From roots to recognition
Ioannis and Nikos Orfanakis, twin brothers born in May 1961 in Heraklion, Crete, were raised in a modest home within a close community. From early on, they showed a natural flair for aesthetics and an eye for detail, qualities that would shape the course of their lives and careers.
Their first steps into business came through fashion, where they cultivated a refined understanding of design, quality and style. These early experiences laid the creative foundation for what would become a long and impactful journey in hospitality.
Today, Ioannis and Nikos Orfanakis are recognised not only as seasoned hoteliers but as creative thinkers with a gift for shaping distinctive destinations. Their story is one of steady growth, quiet confidence and a dedication to doing things with care, from the ground up.
1991
The first hotel
Driven by a shared vision and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, the brothers opened their first hotel, a small but thoughtfully designed property that marked the beginning of something bigger.
2005
Seaside, a Lifestyle Resort
A new phase, both in ambition and execution, and the moment their idea of hospitality found a larger stage.
2021
Acro Suites
Designed with intention and sensitivity to its surroundings, Acro stood out for its bold character, architectural clarity and atmosphere of calm. It quickly gained international attention, setting a new benchmark for experience-led hospitality.
2023
Omicron Hotels
Building on decades of insight, the brothers launched Omicron Hotels, a platform for future developments shaped by purpose, quality and authenticity.
2024
Momi Slow Living Hotel
Renovated from scratch in Hersonissos, a project focused on creating a serene and thoughtful experience in one of Crete's most beloved locations.
2026
The Tierras
A new collection of private villas, continuing their vision of intimate, carefully crafted stays that emphasise comfort and connection to the environment.
